Introducing Others to the World of Autism
Processing a possible diagnosis of Autism for you or a loved one may be a difficult and confusing time. As you come to understand more about Autism, you may be better prepared to share information with your family and friends. Communicating the ins and outs of Autism with others can be a challenging undertaking. Reactions from family and friends may differ. Some may want to fully engage in information and support, while others may take longer to process the information. It is not uncommon for family and friends to feel sadness, anger, or overwhelmed when confronted with your child’s diagnosis.
