Parent Consultant Serving Parents of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs assigned to the Utah Developmental Assessment Clinic (UDAC)
As an employee of the Utah Parent Center (UPC), the Parent Consultant assigned to the Utah Developmental Assessment Clinic (UDAC) provides family-centered peer support, information, education, and systems navigation to families of children with developmental disabilities and special health care needs. Working as part of the Utah Family Voices Family-to-Family Health Information Center, the Parent Consultant partners with UDAC providers and staff to ensure families receive timely information, support, and connections to resources that promote informed decision-making and successful access to services. This role reflects the longstanding parent-to-parent model of service delivery utilized by the Utah Parent Center.
Family and Youth Peer Support
The Family Peer Support Specialist (FPSS) and Youth Peer Support Specialist (YPSS) will support families and youth (ages 0–22) with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) and Severe Mental Illness (SMI) by using lived experience to guide them through the High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) process. These positions will assist families in navigating services, building natural supports, and fostering empowerment to improve family cohesion and quality of life. This position includes regular countywide travel, with occasional travel to nearby counties within the designated areas. Employees are expected to meet with participating families weekly in home, school, and community settings.
