What is Adaptive Physical Education?

Have you heard of the term Adaptive P.E.?  Adaptive P.E. is physical activity that is designed to meet the individual needs of students within special education. Under IDEA physical education services must be made available to every child with an IEP, unless the school does not provide physical education services to ALL students.  Adaptive P.E. has many benefits for these students including: improving self-esteem, learning healthy habits and developing motor skills.
