The Utah Parent Center (UPC) places a high priority on protecting your privacy.  This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate the UPC’s firm commitment to the privacy of our donors and website users.  This policy explains what types of information is collected by our website, and how this information is used. The UPC does not actively gather information on your when you visit our website.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected

Individuals that either donate to the UPC or register online for a training or event using online forms voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name, address, phone number and email address).  We may use this information for specific, limited purposed, with the UPC. If you donate or register for a training online with a credit card, we do not receive that information, only our processing partners, Paypal.com or Stripe, receives this information solely to process your charges.

Registration Questions

The Utah Parent Center does ask several identifiable questions from those who are registering for events at the Utah Parent Center.  That information is collected and tabulated with all other data to provide evidence that the Utah Parent Center is reaching parents, families and youth across the state of Utah and that the participants represent all ages, all disabilities, and various social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.  In addition, data collected may be used to secure renewed or new funding sources to meet the needs of the families we serve.  If you are interested in participating in a class/event, but are uncomfortable providing all of the information, please call 801-272-1051 to have someone assist you in registering without disclosing that information.

IP Addresses

UPC’s host server uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

Cookies

Some websites may save a “cookie” on your computer’s hard disk to provide a temporary history of actions taken.  Our website does not retain any record of the “cookies”.

How Your Information May Be Used

We use your personal information to provide you with personalized service, to send email alerts to you, to answer your requests, to process your donation, etc.  You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communication from us. We may also use your information to track visitors to our website. This allows us to see which of our features are the most popular so we can better serve our users’ needs.  It also lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example) to outside parties.

Email Privacy

The UPC does not sell or rent any collected email addresses to anyone outside the organization.  Any group communications will come directly from the UPC to those who choose to be on our email lists. You may always “opt out” at any time.  If you do not wish to receive our messages, simply use the UNSUBSCRIBE link at the bottom of the email or send an email with ‘Opt Out’ in the subject line to info@utahparentcenter.org.

SMS/Text Message Privacy

We only use SMS/text messages to confirm appointments, provide contact information, and respond to your inquiries sent to us via SMS/text message.
We will not share your phone number with any third party.
We will not share your SMS consents with any third party.
We will not send you SMS/text messages for marketing purposes.
To stop receiving SMS/text messages from us, respond with the word “STOP” at any time.

The Utah Parent Center website, utahparentcenter.org, includes links to external websites.  These links do not fall under the utahparentcenter.org domain, and utahparentcenter.org is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites.  Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

We may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically.  We maintain the option to modify this privacy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website.  Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the updated items.
