How a Caring Community Came Together to Support Children with Disabilities
Some events remind us just how powerful community support can be, and the Create Hope Charity Show was one of them. On February 25th, families from the Kaysville dance studio, Luv 2 Dance, gathered at Farmington High School for an evening of inspiring performances, generosity, and heartfelt support for children with disabilities. What started as a simple dance showcase became something so much bigger—a movement of kindness and inclusion.
A Night Filled with Hope and Generosity
This year, the annual Create Hope Charity Show raised an incredible $10,000 to benefit children with disabilities through the Utah Parent Center. Check out a snippet of one of their routines HERE.
The funds will help provide peer-to-peer support, advocacy, and essential resources for families navigating the challenges of raising a child with disabilities. Thanks to generous donations, ticket sales, and an exciting silent auction, families have greater access to the community support they need.
Throughout the night, dancers of all ages took to the stage, each performance filled with heart and purpose. More than just a showcase of talent, it was a disability-inclusive celebration of resilience, awareness, and unity. Parents, friends, and local businesses all showed up, proving that when a community comes together, incredible fundraising opportunities emerge to make a real difference.
More Than Just a Fundraiser—A Celebration of Community Support
While raising $10,000 was an amazing achievement, this event was about much more than fundraising opportunities. It was about connection, awareness, and disability-inclusive support. Many families raising children with disabilities often feel isolated, but we hope this event shows them that they are not alone and that their community cares. It also highlighted the numerous volunteer opportunities available for those wanting to give back.
Local businesses played a huge role by donating products, sponsoring the event, and participating in the silent auction. Their generosity proved that fundraising opportunities don’t have to be complicated—sometimes, all it takes is a willingness to contribute. This event also emphasized the importance of volunteer opportunities, as community members stepped up to help with event planning, auction coordination, and outreach.
How You Can Bring Your Community Together for Good
Feeling inspired? Here are some ways you can rally your community to create a meaningful impact and support children with disabilities:
💙 Host a Benefit Event – Whether it’s a talent show, a 5K run, or a neighborhood yard sale, bringing people together for a cause creates powerful fundraising opportunities.
💙 Partner with Local Businesses – Small businesses love to give back! Reach out and invite them to sponsor an event, donate products, or spread the word about disability-inclusive programs.
💙 Start a Giving Campaign – Online fundraisers, birthday donations, and matching gift programs are easy ways to support children with disabilities while creating fundraising opportunities.
💙 Explore Volunteer Opportunities – Giving isn’t always about money. Find local nonprofits that offer volunteer opportunities to help with events, mentorship, or advocacy for children with disabilities.
💙 Spread Awareness – Share stories, educate others, and use your voice to promote disability-inclusive programs. Every conversation makes a difference.
💙 Help Meet Basic Needs – Many families raising children with disabilities struggle to access essential resources. Donating basic needs items like food, clothing, and medical supplies can have a huge impact.
