Transition IEP: Are you Ready?

Do you have the skills to use your voice to advocate for your choices while at school?

Starting your High School years can be scary.  Especially if you have a disability.  Some questions you may be asking yourself are:

  • Do I have the right accommodations for my disability?
  • Do I know how to advocate for myself?
  • Who are my “safe people” in school?
  • Where is my “safe space” in school?
  • Do ALL of my teachers know about my disability and what my accommodations are for their class?
  • Do I want to work after high school?
  • Do I want to continue my education in Post-High or attend college?

Linked below are some worksheets and resources to help you answer these questions and more. Remember to ask your “Team” for all the help you need in preparing for a great school year.  Also remember, you can call the Utah Parent Center and talk to our Transition to Adulthood Specialists to help answer any questions you may have.
