What Is a Functional Behavior Assessment?
A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is a process used by schools to identify the reasons behind challenging student behaviors. By examining when, where, and why behaviors occur, an FBA helps educators understand the function of the behavior and develop effective strategies to support the student. The results of an FBA are often used to create a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
