With the busy holiday season, parents often forget to take care of themselves. Self-care is important to keep you healthy, so you can continue to care for others. Here are some  ways to care for yourself:

  • At times, caring for yourself might be a family activity. You can use these videos to practice mindfulness and meditation with your kids:
  • Look for ways to help reduce stress during the holidays. Are there some activities that you like to do, yet cause stress for your loved one with disabilities? Is there a way to adapt the activity? For example, do the activity earlier or with a smaller group? Consider what the most important activities are to your family.
