UPC’s Sibling Project

The Sibling Project is the newest project to the Utah Parent Center. Our goal is to support and empower siblings navigating the complex landscape of living with a brother or sister with a disability or special healthcare needs.

Our Sibling team staff are all siblings themselves. Their mission is to lift younger sibs throughout their journey, offering invaluable resources, fun support groups and creating curriculum for parents and adult siblings that will be transitioning into caregiving roles for their siblings.

Central to our project are the free sibling support groups known as Sibshops. These groups are specially tailored for school-age siblings and teens across the state. Through these gatherings, siblings find camaraderie, understanding, and a safe space to share their experiences, fostering resilience and connection amidst the unique challenges they may face. The Sibling Project is dedicated to ensuring that siblings have a space safe, just for them, to have fun and navigate the unique opportunities and challenges they face in their life as a sibling.
