Los participantes explorarán herramientas prácticas para ayudar a los jóvenes a desarrollar su independencia\, tomar decisiones\, establecer metas y planificar su futuro. \nLas familias aprenderán estrategias para identificar apoyos\, fortalecer la comunicación y comprender mejor las opciones de vivienda y de vida en la comunidad que mejor se adapten a las necesidades y metas de sus jóvenes.

Utah Parent Center\, in partnership with Utah Developmental Disabilities Council\, has curated this unique material to meet the needs of self-advocates ages 18 and older. \nTopics we cover:\nConsent\, Types of communication\, Our Relationships\, Public vs. private\, Boundaries\, Dating 101\, Sexual orientation\, Gender Expression\, Internet Safety\, Healthy vs unhealthy relationships\, Abuse prevention and reporting. \nClasses will be held every Tuesday 10:30-12:30pm 9/29\, 10/6\, 10/13\, 10/20\, 10/27\, 11/3\, 11/10\, 11/17.
