FreeFinding the Truth Lunch & Learn Series
This series will give you the tools and information to help you find the truth about health information and medication. You’ll get a better understanding of where to go to find relevant and reliable health information and what happens as medication moves through the body. The series concludes with an interactive workshop where we’ll go through real-world examples together of ways you can cut through misinformation and get to the facts!
April 28, 12:00 – 1:00 PM Finding the Truth: Health Information
This session is taught by a librarian from a health sciences library to help guide you through the process of evaluating health information online. We’ll explore websites and resources and come to better understand if what the resource is saying is truth or bogus claims that may affect the health of you or your child.
May 5, 12:00 – 1:00 PM Finding the Truth: Medications and the Body
This session is taught by a University of Utah Pharmacology and Toxicology graduate student and will go over what happens to medications as they move through the body. We will explore how this process changes as a child grows, when you are sick and even with the food you eat.
May 12, 12:00 – 1:00 PM Finding the Truth: Putting it all together
This interactive session will explore real-world examples of ways to evaluate websites, articles, and other resources you may come across while helping your child. Come to the session with a website or article you’d like to evaluate to see if it’s speaking the truth.
